Dog vomiting her food

Question
Hi.  I have a 1 year old female french bulldog and when we got her she was eating Nutro Max so we kept her on that but it made her throw up pretty regularly sometimes every time she ate it, so we asked her trainer what to feed her, she suggested Blue Buffalo which my dog would not touch, then we got Bil Jac by recommendation of the Bil Jac rep in petsmart which she loved for 2 weeks then stopped eating entirely and whenever we can get her to choke it down mixed with wet food she throws it up too.  She's very active still and acts hungry and is still pooping regularly so i don't think she has an obstruction or is sick but the only solution i can come up with as of now is feeding her only wet canned food which i know is not the best kind of diet (especially for their teeth) but that seems to be all she can keep down consistently.  I'm really big on feeding her as healthy as i can and i know to look for meat as the first 2 ingredients on kibble foods but every one i try she won't eat or vomits and all the sensitive stomach brands have some kind of wheat or rice as the second ingredient.  are there any healthy sensitive stomach kibbles out there?  does this sound like a sensitive stomach problem to you?  thank you.

Answer
If the dog never did eat very well, and has seen the vet since the problem existed, you may be over feeding it. A vet check still won't hurt. Many dogs will snarf down more than is good for them and look for more. Others refuse to eat more than than they need. Evaluate the dog as illustrated in this link, http://www.longliveyourdog.com/twoplus/RateYourDog.aspx You may want the vet to confirm your judgment. Adjust the dogs food and exercise as needed to reach its ideal body condition. Some German Shepherds and other breeds may refuse to eat enough to completely hid their ribs. As long as you are feeding a concentrated, meat based chow, the best thing is to accept it.

The worst thing you can do is to bribe a dog with rich foods into eating more than it needs. Instead, Put down the dish with what the dog should eat, and give it 15 minutes to eat. Then take it up. Do not give it anything to eat until its next scheduled meal. In a few days, it should be eating what it needs. Continue to check its ribs and adjust the food as needed. This is not easy. I had a Shepherd go 3 days on a few nibbles. I was a wreck, but she was fine. It is almost unknown for a healthy dog not to eat what it needs. Unfortunately, in too many cases, it is less than the package says, and less than the owner thinks the dog should have. Many dogs are quite good at holding out for tastier chow. Like kids, sometimes it calls for tough love.

Sometimes I think food sensitivity is brought on by the owners' stress over what they are feeding.  You can worry your dog sick.  While many people report having to go through multiple chows to find one right for their dog. there is no evidence backing such recommendations as the 2 meats.  I think it is all marketing hype.  Aside from the larger, softer stools that are harder to clean up, you dog would be just as healthy on the corn based chows.
