Question
I have 1 1 1/2 yrs old and the other 1 9mo. old. about two months ago my Yorkies started fighting over toys and chew bones. It has gotten so bad that to break them up I have to pry thier mouths apart. I have since tried different training methods but have not worked very well. I have taken all chew toys away from them and they get along great but become very bored and seek more attention from my self and my husband. I feel really bad that I cant give them toys to play with but I dont know what else to do. My question is with owning two females around the same age, in the future will I always have problems with fighting or is this something that is trainable?

Answer
Lynea,

Sometimes dogs are just like people.  There personalities can clash.  It appears that you just happened to have two personalities that don't get along with each other.  There is no reason to believe that the same thing will occur in the future but there is also no guarantee that it won't.  In my experience no amount of love and attention or discipline will make two females that do not get along, get along.  I had this happen with two of mine and ended up having to give one of them away so that we could have some peace and harmony in our household.
