How do I remove the tails on newborn puppies?

The tail must be cut at the right spot or when they get older they will have a too short or too long tail.  I never trusted myself to do that so I always took them to the vet.  Unless you really know what you are doing I would not advise that you do it yourself.  The tails should be cropped when the puppies are 3 days old.  If you wait too long it can be too painful for them.  I would suggest that you take them to your vet and if you want to do the tails in the future tell you vet you want to watch and that you would like him to explain how to do it.
