My new yorkie - weight

Question
I just got a new member of my family a 4 month old Yorkie and she weighs 6.6 lbs. already, how much do you think I can count on her weighing when she is fully grown. Her parents were both 6-7 lbs but I did not know at what age she would reach her "weight".

Answer
Crystal,

She is probably going to weigh between 8 and 10 pounds when full grown.  Usually breeders will breed a much smaller male to a larger female so that the puppies will be small.  With the father weighing the same as the mother the puppies are going to be a minimum of 7 pounds.  She could weigh as much as 15 pounds when full grown.  She will not reach her full growth potential until she is about a year old.
