going for a walk

Question
My 7 year old Sheltie will no longer go for walks with me.  We live in a quiet neighborhood with few distractions that may be threatenting to her, i.e. no agressive dogs.  I have tried luring her with special treats but she will not go.  Any suggestions?  She has no physical problems, is quite happy to chase unsuspecting squirrels but needs more exercise.

Answer
Hi Dona,

No physical problems and still chasing squirrels?  Yet no walks?

I have seen Shelties "ignore or forget" physical discomfort for the joy of chasing an unsuspecting squirrel.  My advice is to take her in for an exam and ask the vet this question.

If the treat doesn't get her walking, there has to be a reason.
