8 week old labrador sleeping

How long should my 8 week old labrador puppy sleep at night (not counting
potty breaks) and during the day?  If I am crate-training him, should I wake him
up for a potty when I come home or let hime wake on his own?

Answer
I am not sure it is natural for dogs to sleep all night.  I think they adapt to our ways.  So in a few more weeks, your puppy may be sleeping as long as you do.  Or you may be sleeping as long as the puppy does.  We never leave wake up calls when we travel with a dog.  I would leave it sleeping in the crate unless you have to potty it, feed it, potty it again and leave before long.
