Question
My black Labrador who is 4 years old has been malting alot in the last few weeks leaving a lot of hair over the carpet and his bed,. Yesterday night he was coughing a little and this morning hes been coughing/regurgitating up hair and saliva. Hes been outside and hoped he would eat some grass to get anymore hair up but he hasnt yet. Will i have to take him to the vet if the coughing continues or are there any easier solutions?

Answer
Perhaps the best solution is a good brushing.  When my labs go through that, i use a wire slicker brush.  Here is a link to a picture of my Lab with a big ball of hair and the brush in the foreground, http://www.photolocker.net/images/Labman/knitanewaster.jpg

If you get the hair off him before he has a chance to lick it off, and dispose of it, he may not have the problem with it.  You may actually have things in the house that aren't covered in black dog hair.
