3.5 y/o German shepard

I hHello,

My GS has a hole in his heart.  Once a month he experiences spasms where first he would throw up followed by 1-2 minutes of muscle spasms.  my prescribed medications but it has had no effect.  his spasms use to occur once every 2-3 months now they occur every month.  can you please advise on steps i should take?

Hi,  I honestly don't know of anything else you can do.  We had a Basset who had a hole in his heart, and he didn't make it as long as yours has. Of course, this was years ago and medicine has advanced a lot since then.  I definitely feel for you and the position you are in.  Whatever you do, don't let the dog stress itself, and I would soak his food so he doesn't gulp it and stress himself as he eats which can stress his heart.  Wish I could be of more help.
