I have an 11yr. old German Shepherd who has starting to have hip problems.  I was wondering if there is anything that will help besides an operation. She has been spayed. Thanks  FRED

Pain medication can help a lot, the good stuff from the vet, Metacam of something.  Aspirin is the only over the counter thing you can give a dog, and even is isn't good long term.  

Glucoseamine may help too.  Before we put our 15 year old Lab to sleep, she was getting the same Walgreens stuff as my wife was taking.
