dry skin

Yes our German Shepherds has very dry skin. She scratches all the time. We put the Tops on her 1 time a month . Can you help us on the dry skin. Thanks

Hi Randy,

There can be many reasons for dry skin starting with the food you feed your dog to skin diseases or allergies to shampoo or grooming practices, to fleas and ticks. It would probably be a good idea to consult a vet.  

To assist the german shepherd to have a good coat and skin and all around good health it is recommended they be fed a Good Premium Dog food.  Ekanuba and Royal Canin make a dog food specially formulated for the needs of the German Shepherd Dog.

Can you clarify a little more as to how old your dog is, when this started, what physical symptoms are there besides the scratching, scaling, sores, etc. and where your dog tends to scratch on her body the most and I'll see if I can help more but most likely it would be a good idea to consult a vet.
