ANSWER: Goldens may be as bad or worse than other breeds about foraging things that will upset their digestion.  I doubt it is a ear infection.  Often the ears smell terrible when infected.  Since he isn't settling down, it could be an obstruction.  You could either give him another day or 2, or see the vet now.  Obstructions are common and very bad.  I wouldn't let it go into the weekend.

QUESTION: I know that to be true Riley does attempt to eat a lot of things he comes in contact with,he had been chewing on a rawhide bone the week before this bout with the poos but i aslo found a scatter or rabbit droppings in the yard where Riley goes to poo its possible he got hold of some of that.whould that make him vomit and have diareah, vomited 2xs in a week, would an obstruction cause diareah?his appitite ist so great but he will eat if i give him something good other than his dog food.why the 2 days fine 1 day poos?    thanks,  linda

Answer
An obstruction often will lead a dog's body to try to expel it from both ends.  There is a good chance he ripped off a piece of rawhide, bolted it down, and it swelled and won't pass.  Rawhide is very dangerous.

Rabbit pellets can cause temporary upset too but it goes away.
