aggressive cocker???

Question
QUESTION: Iam writing to you answering your question on my previous
subjec about my cocker.
My dog had his last blood check up on October 2009.
Everything was ok.
When he was 1 year old all our house was smelling
urine, although our cocker never urinated inside the
house. We went to a lot of vets, and made him
a lot of blood and urine analysis, with no result of
an infection. I read about submissive or due to excitement
urination, and thought that he has that kind of problem.
This problem still exists but it is a little better now.
The last days he growls at us mostly in the evening,
when he is lying on his bed, or on the couch, as I
told you before, when we try to pet him, and also
in the evening again when he is coming to us to pet
him, but not all the time.
Nothing happens after that. I try to tell him that
he is bad dog, and he stops growling and then he starts
licking himself as I described you before, as if he
understands he is doing something bad. He also does the
same thing when I try to lift him and hug him, although
in the past he never complained.
Thank you for your answer in my previous questions.

ANSWER: I'm wondering if he's really "growling" or just vocalizing?

Try leaving him alone when he's on his bed.  It's completely odd that he'd come to you on his own and be growling and this makes me think he just might be "talking".

This may be difficult to answer..but what does the growl sound like?  What's his demeanor like when he's doing this?  Is his tail wagging?

QUESTION: His growling is the same all the times. He seems realy angry
when we pet him and he is in his bed, or on the couch. He even
makes a move to bite us, but just a move he is not biting us.
But when he comes to us to pet him on his own he is not angry
he just growls the same way. Maybe he is talking,
but I do not know what he says!
No his tail in not wagging.
Do you want me to send you a photo of him?

Answer
I'd like you to stop petting him when he's in his bed.  And aren't you teaching him the "Off" command when he's on the couch?

This dog may do a little better with a little less attention :)

If he's on the couch - tell him "Off" and do NOT pet him.  Just give the command and then ignore him for awhile.

You may be over thinking this :)
