Question
My 10 month old boxer was loosing hair on her back and almost becoming bald...I heard they can have allergies to some dog foods... What are they mostly allergic too. I switched to Pedigree dog food and it's starting to grow back but would like to find out what exact allergies she has, how do I find this out? It also my not be food what else can I look for? Do they need regular baths?

Answer
Please join up on Boxerworld.com and go to their forum to educate yourself on the Boxer breed. It is the responsible thing to do. They also have common health issues that are prone to Boxers.

Taker her to the vet. He needs to scrape and examine the skin. She could have a mange such as scropic mange.

As far as allergies and foods, Boxers are prone to food allergies: corn, corn meal, and bi-products.

I use Diamond Chicken and Rice and their Lamb and Rice formula. She can still eat puppy food too, and they have that as well. There isn't any bi-products, corn and corn meals.

Research Online natural dog foods that you can get locally or order Online. Read the ingredients. NO bi-products, corn, and corn meals.

She should have a bath at least once a month unless she gets really dirty playing outside.

(Pedigree and any dog food you can buy at the grocery store IS NOT quality food regardless of their "advertisements."

Only natural dog foods are good. We could eat natural dog foods. And your dog will have less health issues, be healthier, and live longer.
