Poop just drops from my dog?

Question
I have the most fabulous dog! He makes me look like a great trainer but it really is him. He is part boxer and we think beagle. He is approx 4 yrs old. He was found as a stray when he was 7 weeks old and we adopted him a week later. When he was neutered he had a "cryptorchid neuter". Anyway, he very occasionally will have a solid poop just drop out of him and he doesn't know he's doing it. He runs and doesn't poop but if I have him on a leash and I'm jogging behind him, I have to watch his butt. Also, when he is sleeping, a round little poop will just fall out of him. Not good if he is sleeping in your bed! Other than these wierd times, he never has accidents-just a round little ball appears by itself somewhere. Sorta funny but I'd love to figure out what is going on. Also, he has a little anxiety, loves people and is social but really loves his family.

Answer
4 years old is too young for any "old age" problems with bowels, etc.

It sounds like he isn't intentionally doing it, so it is not a house training problem.

If this is occurring without his control, and not diarrhea, then he has a colon or bowel related problem.

I highly suggest you get him to your vet for a complete exam and check-up. This is a problem obviously and not normal. A good vet, especially a Boxer-savvy vet, (even though he is only part Boxer) will be able to diagnose easier.

Please get him to the vet ASAP.

Bless his heart, he obviously doesn't mean to do this.
