Question
Our boxer is 20 months old and has had a terrible time with allergies. The allergist says one of his allergies is to grass which he encounters on a dally basis. We have switched foods 4 times the most recent is wheat and gluten free. I use Free detergents and his shampoo is allergy free. Recently have him on a holistic allergy remedy 3 times a day that is FDA approved. I can not continue to send him for cortisone shots that are only lasting 2 weeks now. I know it will ultimately harm him. He still itches but it seems he is less raw and uncomfortable. Any other suggestions for us??

Answer
Hi Debra,

I'd try NuVet Plus vitamin supplements for at least three months( one whole bottle 90 count), you can find that information on my website at http://www.hitowerboxers.com on the right hand side, we have used them with great success on several boxer rescues who had allergies and were quite satisfied with the results, if it doesn't work for your boxer they come with a 100 % money back guarantee and I'd consider the BARF diet, google the name and it will provide you with that information also see these articles for more helpful ideas and timelines to try with dogs with allergies http://www.hitowerboxers.com/boxerallergies.htm , Bathing should be done once a month only if your bathing your boxer more than that you may be contributing to the problem as the natural oils are being stripped from the coat. Please contact me again in three months after you have tried these ideas and let me know how they worked out for your boxer, thank you so much for your question.
