Question
HI WE HAVE JUST RE-HOMED A BOXER,HE CAME FROM A HOME WITH 2  OTHER BOXERS.WHEN WE LEAVE HIM TO GO OUT HE HOWLS AND BARKS.WE ARE WORRIED HE DOES THIS ALL THE TIME TILL WE COME HOME.ANY ADVISE.ALSO HE SEEMS TO HAVE SMALL RED ACNE LOOKING SPOTS UNDER CHIN AND KEEPS SCRATCHING THIS AREA. ANY IDEAS YOU CAN GIVE FOR THESE MINOR PROBLEMS. THANK YOU

Answer
The bumps on the chin could be allergy to plastic. Feed all Boxers out of stainless steel bowls and use leather collars- not nylon.

You did not mention his age-- but allergies to plastic causes bumps, and puppies get puppy acne that clears up.

The boy is experiencing separation anxiety when you leave. You will have to leave him for 3 minutes-- come back in, praise him and give him a treat. Do this as many times a day that you can- and increase the length of time you are gone every 3 or 4 times slowly.

Once he knows you will return, and love him and treat him- he will not be afraid.
