QuestionI have had my 11 week old Bichon for 3 weeks now. She is a lovely dog but when ever we put her in her crate and walk into the other room she will yell and bark constantly. I make myself leave her and not to give into her but is there anything else I can do to stop her from barking? She also barks and growls constantly while she is playing. We don't no why she does this and would like to train her out of this habit. Have you got any suggestions? Thank you.

this is so normal , she is communicating with you as her new itter mates, some are more vocal than others, much of this can come from a lack of socialisation , as such yu need to get her to do a variety of different things with the hoover going, the car doors slamming , shouting etc.
You need to be careful how long she is crated and for why !its impossible to learn if no one is teaching you .
Did the breeder not tell you these are terriers , they are NOT true toy dogs as such they like to dig, play, run, chase hunt, blitz the list is endless.
Advice:
cover the crate when she is sleeping with a light cover, make it her den, she doesnt want to live in a fish bowl, would you?
Only crate when necessary, and she shouldnt be left for more than 3 hours in a crate.
Separation Anxiety:
SHort time in a crate then open, allow to play , then back in for few mins NEVER crate as a punishment only to teach.
