Increased appetite

Question
My 3 year old Bichon has shown an increased appetite for the last week. She is even sitting in front of the pantry. I have given her some extra food, but am wondering if something is wrong. I believe seh is also drinking more water than typically. She is currently being treated for hot spots with hydroxyzine. She is also not sitting in our laps like she usually does.

Answer
Sadly whilst using any steroid the dog will have an increase in appetite and indeed drink more, there are alternative ways to treat hot spots by using a raw food diet and oatmeal, plesae try an elimination diet to see what the cause is, its far better in the long term than to use steroids.
