Question
My ten month old bichon scratches excessively.  She's been treated for hot spots twice and my vet only tells me that little white dogs are prone to allergies.  What can I do/give her to relieve her allergy symptoms?  Benadryl doesn't seem to do anything to relieve the itching.

Answer
you will need to start with a food elimination system and this should give you n idea to what is causing these problems, I would also remove any shampoo that is scented and use an oatmeal based shampoo. It would also be good idea to give essenatial fatty acids like omega 3.6,9 in the diet so start by giving flax oil nd star flower oil , the use if salmon oil is also recommended.
Unless you want the dog to be placed on steroids then you MUST start this immediately. I would be very ruthless and take the dog off every food and only give raw food from now , for more info please go to my health site
