18 month male bijon behaviour

Question
Hi,

We have recently adopted an 18 month male bijon from a rescue centre and after a two week 'honeymoon period' he has started to have some problems. Despite seemingly being housetrained he has started to wee and poo in the house despite being taken outside regularly and taken on walks twice a day.

He sleeps in the kitchen at night and when we put him in for the night he scratches and sometimes throws himself into the door and has also started barking as well. We are trying to ignore this in the hope he will be more confident sleeping alone but if anything this seems to be getting worse.

The accidents in the house in particular are becoming a big problem and even if he is left for just half an hour he will likely have an accident. Could you advise please?

Answer
Rescues take time to adjust, crate him at night and cover the crate on 3 sides, place a warm blanket inside for him and a chew so he doesnt get bored. Place a radio on for a few nights classical music is better as it calms them.
Dont shout when he has his accidents he is nervous , what age is he?

Bleach all areas he uses to toilet and remember you praise good but NEVER shout at the bad just ignore clean it up and distract him as he will be expecting an abusive situation.
