Shedding Bichon Pup & Diet

Question
My Bichon is 12 weeks and although his shedding was previously more noticable, it wasn't all over the place or your clothes after holding him.  However, the information in the answer provided to Nancy re: the subject was extremely helpful and provokes a follow up.

I too feed him Nutro's Natural Choice Puppy Small Bites, (chicken meal & rice) & Billups Chicken Liver Treats (I believe is the brand), which were recommended by the seller & PetSmart.  I also bought the healthy treats w/Omega & duck.  I was told that the brand of dog food was the best brand and could stay w/that even into adulthood.

PetSmart did advise it's best to get a natural oatmeal shampoo/conditioner and stated the brand 'MagicCoat' is the best.  I bathed him (using both); combed/brushed and his shedding lessoned but is still around.  He too has no fleas; but scratches.  And his coat is 2.5-3in. & a mix of straight & wavey; but he has never been curly(?).

I took him to the vet immediately after purchase and she advised you can't tell for sure if it's a purebred just from looking, b/c some look like purebreds, in any breed, and aren't (& vs/vs).  The parents are regisgered w/ACC.  I received a health guarantee w/papers which appear proper.  This is important since I chose this breed as a match for my youngest son diagnosed w/asthma, b/c it's said 'they don't shed.'

But I have some reservations on going to a complete 'raw' diet due to the trouble w/our meats in this country and my ability to always prep & maintain it 3x/day.  **** But if you could give an example of a healthy daily 'menu' w/the raw meat, fruits & veggie proportions you mentioned for pup his age, that would great! This would spell-it-out for me.  My apologies if this seems redundant.  But anything that may stop the itching and shedding, for the both of us is helpful.

Also, is it best to give a vitamin supplement(s) for his daily w/feedings?  If so, which ones/brands, in what forms?

Thanks so much!
Monica
