my spooked cat

Question
I have read your previous statement about how a cat might be spooked however, it do not help me with my situation.  My cat Bandit has always loved to comein my room and wake me up for breakfast. He would jump all over our bed etc. Last week I was holding him and I tried to put him down on my bed, he freaked out and scratched me pretty bad. Now he wants nothing to do with our bedroom. He will wait for me outside my room for breakfast. This is a new home so other animals. Do you think this has something to do with me being pregnant?  I would love to have my old bandit back and waking me up.  ( = Thanks for all your help.

Answer
Hello Lauren,

What was it that freaked him out?  Is he not used to being picked up and just wanted down?  Was there a loud noise at the time ect?  If you can figure out what it was it may be helpful.

Either way you need to get him back in your room, sit on the bed and cuddle with him.  Don't hold him there against his will, let him go once he gets antsy but a few hours later bring him back in.  Do this as often as you can to desensitize him to your room again.  He should be back to his old self pretty quickly.
