Cat temperament

Question
Are there any cats that can live with a bird?  I have a very tame bird and my husband wants a cat.  Thank you.

It really does depend on the kind of bird you have.

Smaller birds like the canary, the budgerigar (parkeet), the finch, the cockatiel tend to not survive a cat.  Most cats eventually do figure out how to get into the cage and get at the bird.

On the other hand, most parrots, macaws, and cockatoos are more than a match for virtually any cat!
