Question
I really need some advise. I'm Jo-Ann Paesano ,,, A stray pregnant cat came into my world and had kittens inside my home. Paws found homes for most of them at Pet Smart. I kept 2 kittens and the Mother (Annie). That's been 1 1/2 yrs ago. Now - for no reason the Mother Cat has become very aggressive towards her kittens ( they are 1 1/2yrs). This is leading to a serious cat fights and has destroyed the bonds between cat and cat . I called my Vet, and he put Annie on med's for calming. Its not working. I'm not sure what todo. Please help me with any supporting advise. Will these cats be house mates again ???? They are in septate rooms.
Thank you for your time.

AnswerJo-Ann,
Are all these cats neutered or spayed? If not, this would certainly help.
Has anything changed in your household. For example, is there a new two legged or four legged addition? Has a new stray cat been coming around your house lately?
A comment on many behavioral modifying meds: If taken orally, they might not be as effective as if you can give them transdermally (in particular I am thinking of amyltirptimine and that whole family of meds).
