Question
Hi there
I am a proud new owner of a beautiful one year old grey cat that I adopted about 4 days ago. However, she has been acting a little strange.  She came from a Humaine Society of about 80 other Cats all shapes and sizes, where she was allowed to roam around freely with all the other cats.  In my hallway I have a oversized mirror. When she discovered the mirror she stood up on her hind legs and scratches at her reflection meowing.  I've ruled out her fighting with another cat as she is super loveable and loved being around all the other cats. Do you think that she is lonely? Should I go and get her a friend?  Please, what are your insights on her strange behaviour?  Thanks so much!!!

Answer
Hi Loriann,
I am so happy to hear that you adopted your cat!  There are so many animals out there that need good homes.  I think it would be a great idea to get another one!  She would be much happier with a friend, and when you aren't home, it would keep her from being lonely.   As far at the mirror goes, she may think there's another cat in there! LOL  She's probably wondering how to get it out!
Your cat will do fine alone, but another cat will bring more joy to her life and yours!!  She will always have a friend and cats love to groom each other, so this will help in that aspect too.

God bless,
Becky
