Question
I have two cats 1 Siamese and 1 DMH.  Both are strictly indoor cats.   I have noticed that they tend to sneeze on occasion but are not acting ill.  The DMH had a respiratory infection years ago but nothing recent could this be a problem?  We just moved into a new home and I am thinking that they are just adjusting to the environment?   Also, my Siamese has been rubbing his bottom on the carpet?  The litter box is changed daily and havent noticed any difference in his behavior?   Any ideas?

Answer
Melissa,

I am not a vet, but. the sneezing is, most probably, a reaction to the new environment and should subside.  It is also not unusual for a cat who has had an upper respiratory infection of some kind to be a bit more sensitive to changes in dust, pollen, spores, etc.

If the Siamese has been rubbing his bottom on the carpet, you may want to have him checked for worms or see if the anal glands need expressing.  Either way your vet can tell you for sure.

Best regards... Norm.
