Is my cat pregnant or not?

16:11:22

Question
I have a 3 year old cat who was in heat and escaped my house on may 19th of this year. I didnt see her mating, but when I did find her, she was surrounded by 3 male cats. I went ahead and assumed that there was a possibility that she may be pregnant. Her nipples are bright pink, but her stomach hasn't grown very much (maybe a tiny bit) Anyway, the other day she began behaving the way she does when she is in heat. She was making the pigeon like purring noises, putting her butt in the air, crying to get outside and spraying. So I assumed that perhaps she may not be pregnant after all. Well, yesterday she began acting funny. She is still displaying the heatlike behavior, but she is also spending a majority of time pacing around the house or sleeping under the bed.She licks her privates almost constantly, and a couple of times I have seen her breathing funny and panting. However, she is eating and drinking normally, and she isn't spending ALL of her time in seclusion. This morning I awoke to her sleeping on my chest, which she never does because I also have a pit bull that she does not want to be anywhere near, but today they were both curled up right by me asleep.
If my judgement is correct, may 19th was 62 days ago. Could she be in labor....or do you think she is just in heat? Wouldnt she be in heat more often than once every 2 months?I never seen her pant before????? This is driving me nuts because one minute I think she is in labor and the next my hopes are dashed thinking she is only in heat. (we actually want a litter as we have a big family of cat lovers who want them.)Could you please help me out? I dont have vet money right now, but I have an appointment for her to be spayed in 3 weeks.
Thanks.

Answer
Love,

The nipples could be bright pink due to her being in heat.  At this point, I would take her to your vet and they could tell you if she is pregnant or not.  Admittedly her behavior is very confusing and she could even have a false pregnancy.

If she is goiung to go into labor, it will be in the next few days.  I really do not know what else to tell you.  I am sure that if you have an appointment for her to be spayed, soon, the vet may forgive an office visit to check on pregnancy.

Pleads elet me know what happens.

Best regards... Norm.
