Cat bitting tail

Question
I noticed that my 2 year old female cat is meowing in pain and bitting her tail. I checked her tail and nothing seems wrong and she doesn't have a skin problem. Her shots are up to date. She never goes outside, strictly indoor cat. I have two other cats and A dog. I'm very worried about her and wonder if l should take her to the vet. What do you think??????

Answer
Denise,

It sure sounds as if there could be fleas or an abscess or something there.  Even though she is an indoor cat, the dog could have brought in fleas.

You would be wise to have your vet check it out.  Fortunately, there is probably nothing wrong that could not be fixed relatively inexpensively.

Please let me know what your vet finds.

Best regards... Norm.
