Answer
Hello Zaki,

On average, 12 weeks is OK to let kittens go to their new homes.  Most people let them go at 8 wks but at this age kittens still have a lot to learn from thier mom's and siblings and leaving this early can cause behavioral problems.  They are also usually still nursing at 8 weeks and thier immune systems are highly underdeveloped at this stage, some kittens aren't even ready at 12 weeks, basically if you watch the behavior between mom and babies you will see when she has weaned them, I strongly believe that with a healthy mom you should never wean the kittens before mom does, mom's do a fine job of it when it's time and they know best when it should be done.  I realize that keeping kittens that long can be unrealistic but in a perfect world this is the better age.  That being said the happy medium is usually 12 wks.
