kitten not sleeping bed

Question
hi,
I have a 2 months old female kitten, and my problem is that I would prefer that my kitten sleeps in her bed rather the floor, but I just can't make her to do so! everytime I find her sleeping on the floor I pick her up and place her in her bed, but she gets out again!!
I tried changing the bed's location several times but with no use!
How can I make my kitten love her new bed??

Answer
Moe,

If she sleeps on the floor then that is where she wants to be. You can't "make" her like her bed. Instead of the cat bed try a cardboard box with something soft in it.

It could be a number of reasons. She may not like the bed itself, she may not like the feeling of being confined, she may not like the feel of the bed and prefers the hard floor, she may be too warm in the cat bed, or it may have some smells in it that she doesn't like.

Put some towels or a couple of your shirts that you have worn in the bed. That will tell you if it is the bed or the smell of it. Also try getting some catnip and rubbing it around inside the cat bed.

She also should have a kitty friend to sleep with, to play with, and for comfort. It's not good to have a little kitten all by itself with no friend. It's easier to take care of two than one because it takes some of the pressure off of you to be company for the kitten and keep it amused and occupied. Plus they learn from each other.
