My miserable cats and me!

This might sound like a stupid question but I am going to give it a go anyway. I have two female cates who are both in heat. I know they need to be spayed (I am well aware) I just do not have the money for it at this time. Hopefully in the near future I will. Anyway for now they (and my family) are totally miserable. Do you know of anything that might make them feel better? I know this is really a dumb question, but I hate seeing them suffer so much.

You are suffering much more than your cats are. There really isn't much you can do short of allowing the cats to contribute to already overwhelming populations of cats and kittens that usually end up in a shelter type environment and are often euthanised simply because there are not enough homes to go around. As vocal and obnoxious as cats in heat can be it really isn't a horrible time for them, all that they are doing is advertising their availability to mate - kind of like singles night in a bar, but for cats there is less pretense....You may want to invest in some good quality ear plugs, because ultimately these kitties are going to continue to cycle every couple of weeks or so until they are spayed or mated.
