Question
i have two elderly females and one 5 yearold male  a stray has adopted us   ...we live where it is really cold  the stray comes in  to warm up    is thi dangerou to my house cats?   the strat also has a couple dead spots on her paw  i think its is from frost bite  what should i do for this?   i think the family of cats will accept her if we let her into our home, my other question to you is if i bring her in and never let her out again, will this chae her personality? also is there any way for me to tell how old she is?

Answer
Hi Andi,

You need to get the stray her vaccinations. She also needs to be fixed if she isn't already. Also deflea her and worm her. This is a good thing you are doing. Your cats should accept her if introduced the right way. Keeping her in won't change her personality. She most likely will become a little more affectionate. Just be careful, she still may try to bolt for the door once in a while.

I don't know what frostbite looks like in cats. I'm up in a very cold area here and the strays I take care of have never got it. It may be something else. When you take her to the vet he will be able to give you an approximation of age. Good luck and write back and let me know how things are going.
