Question
I have a 1 year old cat who was showing no signs of coming in heat so i thought it was safe to let her out (she is usually a house cat), a tom got hold of her and did the deed she has started being more vocal and so affectionate which is most unlike her but does not seem to be diplaying the usual behaviuor of being in heat, this only happened a day or so again, so could she be pregnant??

Answer
Paul,

It is doubtful, but it only takes once.  21 days after the breeding, check her nipples.  If they are bright pink and protruding, she is probably pregnant.  This phenomenon only lasts a couple of days, so you need to be exact.

Best regards.... Norm.
