only one baby ..

two days ago, my cat gave birth to one kitten. it died this morning. it feels like she still has a couple of kittens in there. i know its possible for cats to hold off giving birth to their other kittens for a while, but its been two days and she shows no signs of going into labor. could it be possible that they have died too?

Your vet will probably be open Monday, so, if your queen does not do anything more, I would take her into your vet for a post natal check up. It is possible she has more kittens, since they sometimes empty one horn of the uterus and then the other (sometimes with a couple of days intervening). Your vet could tell you if there are any more kittens inside.

I am saddened that the one baby did not make it.
