Question
Can you tell me if a cat has any perception as to how long they have been alone in a house, I've been told 5 hours seems the same as 5 minutes  is this true..
   Thank you for your help.....

Answer
Marilyn,

We know that cats perceive time differently than we do.  It may very well be that 5 minutes is the same as 5 hours.  We know that cats are patient and stoical when alone in a carrier and seem to not mind many, many hours in transit. The truth is that most cats just sleep for the duration,  If there is nothing to do and no threat, they just seem to go to sleep.

So, no, cats really do not know, nor do they care how long they are alone in the house as long as they get something to eat and drink regularly!

Best regards... Norm.
