NOT SURE IF MY CAT IS PREGNANT!!

Question
My cat ari is a inside cat. A few months ago we put her outside so she could get use to being a inside/outside cat, she is not fixed either and I know the possibilities of her getting pregnant is very high.Well She was hanging around a male cat for awhile and ended up "getting together" with this cat. This was last month.Well now it's been 5 or 6 weeks and I'm starting to think she is pregnant she is a small cat for her age, she's 1 1/2 i noticed her nipples seem to be sticking out, as for before everything, I had a hard time spotting them out.I can also hear like this bubbling moving type sound when i put my ear up to her tummy but not sure what that is..if it could be her babys or something. If you could help me out I would be very thankful!
Thanks,
Kristina

Answer
Kristina,

The odds are she is pregnant, and the time to have been able to tell for sure (21 days after breeding) is long past.  Cat gestation is 65-67 days after breeding with 63 days being a normal minimum and 69 days being a normal maximum.

A week or two after breeding, there is often some morning sickness (throwing up). 21 days after breeding, the nipples protrude and turn bright pink, but go back to normal after a couple of days. 5-6 weeks into it, she should have noticeable weight gain and may begin to show signs of pregnancy as the nipples may begin to go pink and protrude again.

If she is pregnant, she is probably a good 4-5 weeks away form delivery.  Do you know what to look for when delivery is near?

Best regards... Norm.
