Is this a false pregnancy?

14:36:25

Question
My cat is almost 2 yrs old.  About 62 days ago a tom got in the garage with her during one of her heats. Within a wk she was eating 3 times as much as usual, and her behavior did a complete turnaround form anti social to totally loving, Shes shown many other signs of pregnancy but her nipples aren't swelling yet, and I'm afraid to feel for the kittens since I don't know what I'm doing.  She didn't have a heat for a full 6 wks after her encounter, but then right at 6 wks she started calling again.  Totally confused, I've read that calling agin means false pregnancy, but I've also read a heat is possible in pregnant cats.  How Do I know, or do I just have to wait?

Answer
Hi Christina,

Are her nipples pink? If they pinked up she most likely is pregnant. And from what you say it does sound like she is pregnant. There are two things you can do. You can either wait a few more days to see if she delivers. Or take her to a vet to check her over. Here's a link about pregnant cats and labor.

If she does have a false pregnancy get her spayed and avoid problems like this again. Good luck and take care.
