Cat Gave Birth To Dead Kitten :(

My cat gave birth to a dead kitten but weirdly the kitten came out in no sack do you no why this is ?

I am not a vet, but I do know that things can go wrong in utero when a cat comes into labour.  If the cat was in labour for a long period of time, and things were not going well for some reason, the hard contractions could break the sack which, if the kitten is not pushed out shortly thereafter, the kitten will get no oxygen and die in utero.  It is also possible the kitten was already still.

How long was her labour pushing out that first kitten?
