Question
I bought a flea collar for my kitten 2 days ago.
And this morning I woke up to it being suck around her mouth. Like she was biting it.
She began to drool an act very odd. I removed the flea collar. And made her drink water.
But she is still acting very sick.
Is she going to be okay? What do I do?
Please answer as soon as possible.

Answer
Hi Breanna,

You should have the packaging of the flea collar available and get to the vet. Many flea collars contain ingredients that are highly toxic if ingested. Induced vomiting is sometimes required, as well as gastric lavage and subcutaneous fluids. You could call the Animal Poison Control Center ahead of time to see if the ingredients in your collar are toxic, at 888-426-4435, but there is a $65 consultation fee that will be charged to your credit card.

Best wishes,
Jessica
