QuestionHi i have found an injured stray cat in the neighborhood with a bad injury to its hind leg. It is a mature cat maybe 10 or 12 yrs.It is swollen and has been infected with pus. i would like to take him to the animal services. Do you think they will treat it? or just put him down? Any chances that cats recover from such injuries event hough they may limp afterwards? Thanks, feeling bad Nita Canada
AnswerNita,
I would ask the animal services folk. Also, many vets do pro-bono treatment for rescue kitties.
It sounds like this stray could recover very well from the injuries. Even if the hind leg needs to be amputated, many cats gety along just fine as house pets on 3 legs!!!!!!!
Please let me know what you find out.
Best regards... Norm.
