Cat tail changed color??

Hello. Have you ever heard of a cat's tail changing color? We have a 3 year old Himalayan tomcat, brought him home in August and he was a beautiful sealpoint.  Now it's January and he's still a beautiful sealpoint except for his tail, which has faded to gray.  What happened? Did we brush it too hard? Will the dark brown ever come back?  The cat does not go outside, seems pretty healthy.  We thought the color of the coat might be temperature related.  Thank you.

I am not up on my Himmy or pointed info. I suggest that you ask someone who raises Himmies.
What about the breeder from whom you got the kitten. Or look below for a Himalayan breeder and write an email to her.
