QuestionIs it possible for a rabbit and cat to breed? I don't think so being that it is not possible to artificially inseminate a cat . But can a male cat successfully breed with a female rabbit? I say no but there are some who say yes.
AnswerHi Pollie
I had a rabbit many years ago who would go through the motions of trying to mate my female cat when she was in season but never actually managed it. A male cat would not be able to mate a female rabbit as she does not adopt the correct pose to allow a cat access. However even if he had managed it any possible foetuses would not survive as the cat and the rabbit have different gestation periods. It is highly unlikely that any embryo would result as they are two different species totally. Cross species fertilisation does not happen.
