My Kittys Tears?

Question
I was feeding Babe a little bit of Tuna sprinkled with his antibiotic for the genetic infection he has in his mouth. The vet says it is likely he will have this for the rest of his life. He also currently takes a steroid pill that I give him every other day down the back of his throat.

I noticed last night that Babe started crying what appeared to be tears while he was eating the tuna. At least 8-9 drops of clear liquid came out of each eye. I had never seen that happen before and it scared me. My kitties are my children. I have 5. Any ideas?? Is he in pain or unhappy?? My main concern is his comfort.

Answer
He may have just gotten something in his eye--maybe a drop of tuna juice.  If he is not blinking his eye excessively or squinting it, then I would not worry.

However, I would highly suggest getting him on some immune boosting supplements to help his mouth condition.  I have a friend who is giving her cat Transfer Factor Feline Complete now for severe gum infections and her cat has not had to have any antibiotics or steroids for almost a year since being on the Transfer Factor.
