syrian hamster teeth

Question
Hey, I am new to owning hamsters.
I have a 4 month old syrian hamster called ozzy.

He has plenty of stuff to gnaw. But for some reason he doesnt seem to gnaw much. His teeth are quite long, you can just see the pointed tip of each tooth when his mouth is nearly closed. Are his teeth too long?

We asked a local vet about bringing him for a checkup, he said. "He might get a bit stressed out a bit, but it doesnt take long. You should bring him in his cage."

My cage is really really big. So I was wondering if to bring him in a small tank. Because my cage is too big, and he eats those carrying boxes and gets out.

But I don't even know if to take him to the vet. And if I do, in what?

Answer
taking him a small rectangular fish tank is perfectly good. Just make sure there is some shavings in it for him to stand on but no objects.
You should be able to see the very tips of most rodents teeth when you turn them over, but they should be fairly squared off, not pointed.
I would have the vet give him a look over and then you will know what is normal and what isn't. Write a list of questions down to ask the vet before you get there so you won't forget any of them. Then don't forget the list!
