11 yr old lab mix needs to lose 30 pounds

Hi. I have an 11 year old golden lab retriever mix female. The vet said she needs to drop about 30-35 pounds but he won't put her on a diet food or any diet medication. Hes basically left me on my own. I currently feed her about 1 1/2 cups of dry food from Royal canine for labs and a small cup of beneful meals 4 days a week. I don't know if I am under feeding her or over feeding her at this point. When we got her she had been abused and starved and we were told to put weight on her. Well, we did that! How do I get it off of her?

Hi Beverly - Yes, I have some help for you and your lab girl.. We can get that weight off of her and keep her healthy too!
Let's make some changes to her diet and add supplements...

Here goes!

Please mix her Royal Canine with Innova Senior Formula dry dog food-
Do a 50/50 mix of this for 2 weeks.  Then, after about 14 days, or so, do just 100% of the Innova Senior dog Food.....
This is excellent and LESS fillers than the Royal Canine brand.

Also, no more of the Beneful at all....not good for her... sorry...

Give her about 1.5 to 2 cans per day of Green Canned Beans - this is the canned with low salt or no salt added.  Break the green beans up into 2 feedings - One in the am and One in the Pm..
Put a dash of Parmesan Cheese ( grated) on top of the green beans for taste.  This is low in calories and filler her up fast.
You can even do 2.5 cans per day if she likes them...  It won't hurt at all to eat Green Beans...
