7 mo. kitten suddenly has wobbly rearend

Question
I have a 7 mo. ferral kitten rescued at 4 weeks.  He all of a sudden is very weak and wobbly in his hips.  He only takes a few steps and has to sit or lay down.  He is acting fearful, and wants to spend time away by himself.  Is this common?  What can I do?

Answer
No this isn't common, but cats can have issues with blood clots in their back legs. That is pretty rare for a kitten.
It sounds more like he was bumped by something and could have a cracked or broken pelvis. This can be seen on an xray. If that is what has happened, the only thing you can do is cage rest him until it heals.

But a vet should see him and determine the cause.
