Question
Dear docter.Louis n. Gotthelf,
We just brang two kittens into our home .They have an eye infection like all kittens do we treated it with a antibiotic cream from our local vet that didnt improve it.Now our older cat has one eye is always watering what can i do to correct this problem?

Answer
Just because you got an antibiotic does not mean that the bacteria in the eyes will be killed by that antibiotic.  In kittens, I recommend either erythromycin or terramycin to treat for chlamydia, which is hard to kill with normal eye antibiotics like neomycin.  Some kittens also get viruses in their eyes and it takes a while for the eye infection to go away.
