Question
Hello,
I am interested in starting up an aquarium.  I have been researching different types of fish as well as various different aquarium set-ups.  I am most interested in the figure 8 puffer.  I have my heart set on a 70-100 gallon tank.  So far the Uniquarium brand looks the best because little or no set up is needed.  I would eventually like to have atleast six puffers.  What type of set up should I have for this fish?  (filters, heaters, etc) I just don't want to walk into a store and be sold the wrong equipment.

Answer
Hi David,

Sorry to get back to you so late but wanted to do a little investigating before answering your question. First of all, puffers are awesome. They do, however have a voracious appetite. They will eat alot and create a lot of waste which your system will have to handle. I would go to the site of debbie and stan hauter. they have a vast array of info on the best way to get set up and to maintain a high volume system. Go to about.com, click on games and hobbies. Next page, bottom left, click on saltwater aquariums, and you will be in info heaven. Read and study before you start and you will have a smooth road. Patience is the key with saltwater. Enjoy your puffers, once they get to know you they will eat out of your hand and maybe even let you pet them. Have fun, gerry.
