Question
I have a number of baby fish in a small tank and would like to know what fish i could put with them to keep the tank clean but not eat the fish.

Thank you George

Answer
Hi George;

For food falling to the bottom you could have some dwarf cory cats. For algae, Otocinclus are the only ones that stay tiny. These fish have very small mouths and, as long as the babies aren't small enough to fit in their mouths, they can't eat them. You can put these types of fish in only if your tank is big enough though. If it's very small and since the babies are still going to get quite a bit bigger and take up more space, you might consider just gently vacuuming the gravel and making a water change at least 3 times a week. They will certainly grow fast that way!
