Question
I have a black moor that has a huge blister over the left eye and it looks like it's ready to pop.  What can I do to treat it and do you have any idea what it might be or what may have caused it?  I have a 10 gallon tank and the water temp. is between 70 and 74 degrees.  It is swimming around and eating but it's eye looks horrible.  Thank you for any help you can give me.

Answer
Hello,

This sounds like it could be a bacterial infection. I recommend treating your fish with a product by Mardel called Maracyn.

During any time of crisis in your tank, you should always check the levels of nitrites, ammonia, nitrates and chlorine to make sure none of those are the problem.

I hope this helps.

Stephanie
